Kamloops Triathlon Club Workout Schedule
As we have dropped the mandatory requirement for a Tri BC membership with our membership, the Kamloops Triathlon Club is not hosting any workouts. Instead, we are collaborating with organizations hosting workouts in the community to pool our resources and streamline our efforts.
Community Workout Schedule
There are many activities that are already underway in Kamloops- cycling time trials, running time trials, cycling distance rides, open water swims, masters swimming groups and community running groups. Many of these are attended by people who are members of the Kamloops Triathlon Club.
In an effort to strengthen our multisport community and to ensure that information about these Community Workouts is common knowledge, the Kamloops Triathlon Club will strive to be a clearing-house for information about workouts.
This will occur in two ways:
It is important to note that any activities that are listed under the Community Workout Schedule are not organized by the Kamloops Triathlon Club and there is no insurance in place through the Kamloops Triathlon Club should an incident occur.
So take a look at our Swimmimg, Cycling and Running Workout schedules and at information about becoming a coach. Be you a triathlete, swimmer, cyclist or runner we have the information you need about events in our community!
Parallel Workouts
Interested in coming to a workout but not sure if it will meet your needs? Want to be there to learn but not game to do the whole thing? We are looking at supporting our members by encouraging them to participate in "Parallel Workouts" if they are concerned that the listed workout will not meet their needs.
A parallel workout is simply a workout for you that takes place at the same time and place as the listed workout- but you determine how much you want to do. This is particularly useful for newbies. For example, if you are just learning how to swim, come to the Canada Games Pool during the Wednesday night tri-focus Masters Swim and participate by listening in to the coach, swimming in a slow lane, or swimming in the lane next to the Masters Group. Be sure to introduce yourself to some people and let them know if you have any questions. New to open water swimming? Maybe a 15 minute swim along the shoreline is enough for you.
So give it a try- it just might meet your needs!
